How Insurance Works

We work directly for you, not the insurance companies. By stepping outside the traditional insurance model, we eliminate rushed 10-minute visits and hidden copays. While we do not bill insurance for our time, you can still use your standard insurance, FSA, or HSA for outside labs, imaging, and prescriptions.

Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for my membership or visits?

In most cases, yes! Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can typically be used to pay for a la carte medical visits, IV vitamin therapy, weight loss counseling, and annual wellness exams. Many patients also use these funds for their monthly concierge membership, though we recommend verifying with your specific tax advisor or plan administrator.

How do I get a same-day appointment if I am sick?

Because we strictly limit the number of patients in our concierge practice, we always reserve openings in our daily schedule. If you are a Subscription Member experiencing an acute illness, simply text or call the clinic directly, and we will arrange a same-day in-person/virtual or next-day appointment.

Are IV therapies and labs included in the monthly membership fee?

Your monthly membership covers all of Dr. Mercado’s time, comprehensive physicals, telehealth access, and standard in-office diagnostics. Outside laboratory tests and specialized IV therapy infusions are an additional cost.

Can I cancel my membership if I move or change my mind?

Absolutely. We believe in earning your trust every single month. There are no long-term trap contracts. If you need to cancel your membership, simply provide us with a 30-day written notice.
